“The position of the choir during the
service was discussed. Council felt that
the congregation should not get accustomed to the choir always being at the
front. Motioned by Esther and Carried
that the choir vary their location (front and back) during the services.”

“Esther commented on the success of
the prayer flags and thanked everyone that helped.
The new Bethany logo was presented for
Council’s approval. Motioned by Esther,
seconded by Mary that the new logo be accepted as Bethany’s official logo. Carried. The report was filed.”

that Bethany create and enter a float in the Santa Claus Parade, 2014,
honouring the church’s 80th anniversary which falls on Dec. 10th,
2014. Carried.”
“Also motioned by Mary, seconded by
Shirley that Council accept Alf and Reta Warias’ offer to organize and prepare
a fundraising dinner on Saturday, February 15th, 2014 in order to
raise funds in support of the float for the 2014 Santa Claus parade. Carried.”
“Good news:--Motioned by Gary [Tubbe], seconded
by Inga [Hansen] that upon being transferred from Our Saviour’s Lutheran
Church, Owen Sound, Alf and Reta Warias be officially received into the
membership at Bethany Lutheran Church, Woodstock. Carried.”

prepare for the celebration. Mary then

“—regarding recommended changes to the
Synod Covenant
--council agreed to post a copy of the
Covenant on the church’s website and to inform the congregation of its posting
through the bulletin and laptop screen information on Sunday mornings. If a member of the congregation does not have
internet access a hard copy would be made available.”
“Was it ever ascertained that all
persons who desired hard copies received them?
Mandate should be to present the data, notmerely to point out a source
should someone choose to ask.”
“Pastor’s concern: --an outline of each Committee’s
mandate...does not exist. Richard says
misplaced. Council is asked to search
any files they may be aware of that may contain the missing material.

Hansen’s.

that the pastor could contact the church of the chairperson of the congregation
would contact the Pastor if the weather was such that driving was too dangerous
